Ideas for eBooks
Information can already be sent as word documents / emails/ pdfs – sent to computers, though not always easy to read unless printed out as the text is often too small.
As eBooks, ‘clients’ have info sent to, and into their pocket device.
Very little of this information is new; it already exists in digital form so there’s no extra typing or writing. It just needs collating / planning and sent to me for conversion.
eBooks can be stored and read on Kindles, eReaders, iPads, iPhones and all other Smartphones, as well as all computers – the software is simple and free.
The screen shows the text / pictures, the font can easily be made bigger/smaller to aid reading, and the contents page can help find the right section. Usually there’s a search box to look up words in the text.
The niche for eBooks is:
Easily readable text [though not too much]
Pictures / photos / diagrams
Don’t need to be online to access it
Links to websites as hyperlinks in the text
Links to YouTube [type] video
You can email the eBooks to people, ask them to upload it themselves or place it somewhere you can charge for it – like a cheap ‘app’.
Commerce / business
Updates for customers – info, dates, pictures, useful URLs, videos
Info for employees / reps / service engineers
Adverts – new products and services – pictures and links to URL, video
Feedback from customers, praise, points to improve
Law and H&S legislation, advice, practice
Reference data – prices, codes, technical info
Who’ who in the business – who to contact and what for – put faces to names.
